Jefferson Barracks established in 1826, is located just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.  The Post has a long history in military annals.  At one time during the Civil War, General U.S. Grant headquartered here.  It was only recently that the post became exclusively an Air Corps Replacement Training Center.

St. Louis embraces 40,000 acres, and has a frontage on the Mississippi River twenty miles.  In 1804, believe it or not, the French, Spanish, and American flags all flew over St. Louis inside a period of 24 hours.

Well we arrived in St. Louis safel and after some nice walks we enjoyed a show and really something good to eat.  We are having for Denver at 4 pm on the Stream-liner.  Everything  has gone  well so far.

The first ride of the Pony Express, April 3,1860,

St. Joseph, Mo. to Sacramento, Calif.

This scene show the dramatic start of the first messenger on that famous route that number among its riders such well known names as Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill Hickok.  The barn is still standing and pointed out as an object of interest.
