MINNESOTA
"Land of 10,000 Sky Blue Lakes"
Greetings from Luverne, Minnesota
Minnesota a perfect vacation land, from the Lake of the Woods, with its fourteen thousand islands.  Rainy River and Lake on the north to the fertile plains on the south, from the rugged rock bound coast of Lake Superior, the jagged crags of the St. Croix River on the east to the Bread Basket of the Red River Valley; picturesque scenery, lakes that team with fish and an atmosphere laden with the fragrance of pine and balsam.

He seems to be popular this week on Sunday Stamps.
This is commemorating the Sesquicentennial of his Inauguration
as First President of the United States.
 1789 - 1939
President from 1789 to 1797

Also notice the special Railway Cancellation
from the 1939 New York World's Fair.

Visit Sunday Stamps for other History Lessons.

Coralway Cafeterias

147 MIRACLE MILE
CORAL GABLES, FLA.

110 N. E. 79TH ST.,

I think I may have eaten in the 79th St. location
when I first moved to Miami back in '78.
But it disappeared many years ago.

I don't remember the Miracle Mile location at all.

* Sunday Stamps *

My choice for Sunday Stamps this week is
The First Day Cover from the
1962 Seattle, Washington World's Fair.
It features the Space Needle on the commemorative stamp.

I actually had the nerve to go all the way to the top
on my visit to Seattle.
It was exciting to say the least.

May Flowers

Dogwood in the spring.
A Classic Chrome Card
A later publication than most
of the linen cards I Collect.
I remember how beautiful the dogwood trees are in the Spring.
Would be lovely to see them again sometime.
Unfortunately they don't grow here in Florida

Tulip Time

Sorry I missed this earlier when posting Holland Michigan.
I had it under a different Title.
 Nelis Tulip Farm
It really must be a beautiful sight.
Would love to see it myself.

" FULL MOON "

ENTRANCE TO LUNA PARK,
SURF AVENUE BY NIGHT,
CONEY ISLAND
N.Y.
Be sure to ride the Cyclone while you are there.
I took a thrill ride back in the mid 70s it was crazy.  A fast scary rough ride.  The entire time I felt like I would be thrown out of the car.  I hope it has a better safety features now.

Alright everyone,  hands off the bar
and up in the air over you head.  Take a deep breath.
Lets go.

"The seven mile bridge between Miami - Key West"
"The bus that goes to Sea"
I remember my first trips to Key West.
Those old two lane bridges were so narrow and scary.
Especially when passing another vehicle,
God forbid a Greyhound Bus.
Of course today they are all replaced with
new modern highways and bridges.

Greyhound Post House on Overseas Highway, Florida
It is a beautiful drive.
You must stop and have Conch Fritters
for lunch on your way down to Key West.
And be sure to catch a Sunset there
or on your way back up to Miami.
