From the dates on these messages I gather The lights were turned off during at least part of W.W. II.  Can anyone varify that?  If yes can you tell us why?  Could it have been to save power or hide the location?   Would like to have any information you can share with us.

SEEING NIAGARA FALLS FROM "MAID OF THE MIST."  One of the most interesting experiences of a visit to Niagara is a trip under the Falls, by means of Steamer
Maid of the Mist."  The voyagers are swathed in oilskins as a defence from the saturating spray and the spectacle of the mighty volume of water, passing over the precipice 160 feet above, to fall in thunder on the rocks below is as magnificent as it is impressive.
