The Transparent Car is on display in the main lobby of the General Motors Building. It is a full size Pontiac Torpedo 8 Sedan with body by Fisher. The outer panels are made of Plexiglas, a new transparent plastic. Through the transparent exterior you see the structural and operating parts ordinarily hidden from view. By the use of chrome and copper plating, as well as bronze and enamel finishes, the various functioning parts are easily distinguished And of course, you can readily see the many design and constructional features that contribute strength and safety to the famous Body by Fisher.
