Welcome to my collection of Linen Post Cards. When I was a child in the 50s my eccentric aunt Hannah sent Linen Post Cards to our house from her adventures. The simple watercolor effect they have gave me many hours of daydreams from her travels. I hope I can share a few with you. Yes cards and daydreams.

-MAIN STREET U.S.A.-
Modern Stores on Main Street,
Union, S. C.
I can remember McLellan's in my hometown, Bessemer, Alabama.
It was a favorite 5 & Dime Store. Packed full of Treasures.
As a very young child I remember looking through all the toy counters, with instructions of no touching of course.
It was a place where you could share a bag of popcorn
from the machine near the front door.
I will never forget that buttery smell.
And to think it was a modern Store.
Many were gone by the late 50s due to a merger with McCrory.

The Alamo
Build 1718,
San Antonio, Texas
The sacred Alamo stands within the very heart of the business district of the city of San Antonio. It was erected in 1718 by the Franciscan Monks and was originally the Chapel of the Mission of San Antonio de Valera. It was within the gray stone walls of the quaint old Chapel, March 6, 1836, that Travis, Barrett, Bowie, Crockett, and 170 unsung heroes gave their lives in defense of Texas liberty.
