This is my contribution to this weeks Sepia Saturday Theme.
This is a black and white photograph taken by my
older brother Jerry sometime in the mid to late 50's.
It comes from a Hopkins Family Reunion.
I was in attendance but do not remember this moment.
I think it most likely is a state park in Texas
maybe Lake Bonham State Park.
These are some of the Hopkins Girls "chillin"
on a hot August afternoon.

That’s an almost perfect match for the prompt. Well done Jerry!
ReplyDeletethat looks very similar to the prompt. I am amazed at all the family photos of waders that everyone has.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly..........don't think anyone else will be able to get this close to the prompt!
ReplyDeleteIf there's a prize for the closest match, you're IT.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture! I agree with all the foregoing comments. Your brother's snap is spot on with the prompt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo, of a moment that likely would not have been remembered by anyone otherwise.
ReplyDeleteIs that a pair of shorts out there on the right? First prize for the match.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great match. Only missing the little boys.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the waders have hitched their skirts a tad higher? I see knees and thighs. A decade later we were burning our bras!
ReplyDeleteWell. we obviously weren;t a paddling family. It was a case of all in or all out (of the water). So I am admiring all the amazing photos other Sepians are presenting.
ReplyDeletePerfect match, and some of the hats the hats are interesting too.
ReplyDeleteAgree with all about about your good match - but I think your people look like they are enjoying themselves more.
ReplyDeleteA fine match! And a family photograph!
ReplyDeleteIndeed a perfect match but I think someone had to persuade them that it was worth a photo.
ReplyDeleteThey look as though they were having fun - and no splashing or shoving? do you think the peak-y sun hat is an impromptu one made from a magazine?
ReplyDeleteI can hear the photographer now, "Up to your knees ladies, just up to your knees." I imagine there was a lot of laughter.
ReplyDeleteAs everyone else commented, that's such a perfect match to the photo prompt this week, even the hats.
