For all my Post Card friends in the cold
Miss You, Wish you were here . . .
Welcome to my collection of Linen Post Cards. When I was a child in the 50s my eccentric aunt Hannah sent Linen Post Cards to our house from her adventures. The simple watercolor effect they have gave me many hours of daydreams from her travels. I hope I can share a few with you. Yes cards and daydreams.
I have two version of that card--one with just FLORIDA and one with MIAMI FLORIDA.
ReplyDeleteI am working on an article for my website about this type of card. I almost decided to put one on my blog today.
Do they still sell this type of "here and there weather comparison" postcard in Florida? Do you know of any from the recent past?
I can't remember seeing any. There aren't many good postcards around anymore. I will take a look, if I see any I will pick them up.
DeleteThere are hardly any postcards here now too. I thought there would be more in a tourist place like Florida.
DeleteThis card perfectly captures this past week. I even made a little video of the snow and sent it to my uncle in Florida. He loved it but didn't want to rush back here to endure the storm.
ReplyDeleteHeather It is pretty but I must say you can keep it. It is not for me.
DeleteWell we seem to be somewhere in between - no flowers but no snow either.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for a small favor.
DeleteI just adore these--and with our unaccustomed snow, they are especially fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHappy Postcard Friendship Friday!!!
